How far in advance should you book an event stylist in Sydney?

August 20, 2026

back to blog

Short answer, as early as you possibly can. Our weddings are sometimes booked out well over a year in advance, and if you’ve got your heart set on a particular date for your milestone celebration, especially during peak wedding season, getting into the calendar early really does make a difference.

Why the lead time matters more than people expect

A lot of clients come to me thinking styling is something you sort out a few months out, closer to the day. For smaller celebrations that can sometimes work, but for weddings and larger events, there’s more happening behind the scenes than most people realise.

  • Popular dates, particularly weekends across spring and summer, get booked out first
  • Custom faux flower arrangements and specific colour palettes take time to source and build properly, especially with me obsessing over the fine details
  • Hire stock, think champagne towers, arbours, specific tableware, is limited, and the pieces you love may already be booked for someone else’s date if you wait too long
  • Regional celebrations often need extra lead time to plan around travel and delivery logistics

Does every event need a year’s notice?

Not necessarily. Weddings are usually the ones booked furthest ahead, but for birthdays, christenings and smaller milestone celebrations, a few months is often plenty, particularly if you’re after one of my signature set-ups rather than full styling. The honest answer is, the earlier you reach out, the more flexibility we have with your date and your vision.

What actually happens once you enquire

Booking with me is simple, and you’ll have full visibility the entire way through.

  1. You complete my enquiry form and tell me about your celebration, I’ll check availability and start learning about your vision
  2. I put together a tailored proposal and quote for you to review in your own time
  3. Once it feels right, you secure your date with a 20% deposit, and we keep refining the styling together right up until your event
  4. From there, you can relax. I take care of every last detail so you get to actually enjoy the lead up to your celebration

If you’ve got a date in mind, even a rough one, I’d rather you reach out too early than too late. Browse what I offer or jump straight to the enquiry form and let’s lock in your date before someone else does.
